Tones is a deep-tech platform for laboratory specialists — built to manage, launch, and monitor scientific protocols in real time. The kind of work where precision isn't optional.
Tones is a deep-tech platform for laboratory specialists — built to manage, launch, and monitor scientific protocols in real time. The kind of work where precision isn't optional.
The project
Tones is a platform for managing and executing scientific protocols in real time. Scheduling, configuration, live monitoring, reagent management — all in one place. The brief was to redesign it so that operators could focus on the science, not on figuring out the interface.
We mapped every flow around one principle: reduce cognitive load at every step. Clear protocol lists with smart filtering, real-time progress widgets that stay visible without interrupting the workflow, contextual actions that surface only when relevant. Nine months of weekly deliveries, from UX architecture and design system to the product website.
The result is a platform that guides operators through complex procedures the way good software should — quietly, precisely, without getting in the way.

Result
One of the core product screens used to manage and run protocols. It provides a clear overview of all available protocols with quick access to editing, launching, scheduling, and monitoring. The list supports search, filtering, and sorting, allowing users to find protocols by ID, name, author, status, or last launch date. Each protocol item includes key metadata and contextual actions for fast decision-making.
When a protocol is running, a persistent minimised widget appears at the bottom of the screen. It displays real-time progress, temperature, current stage, remaining time, and execution status — with instant access to a detailed view without interrupting the workflow.

The website covers the full product story: technology overview, key benefits (walk-away automation, reagent vendor independence, cost saving, flexibility), the patented core mechanism, key milestones, and a validation section with trusted partners. The result is a confident, credible presence for a deep-tech product entering the laboratory market.
